Program Coordinator, Lead Instructor

Our Recording Engineering and Record Producer Programs offer Hands-On Training..... after all, you can't learn to swim without going in the water. We offer a full complement of equipment for your use in preparing your required recordings, but if you already have a home studio, that's great.... our classes will teach you to navigate your way around that too.

Our students are producers, engineers, artists, musicians, people in bands, people who have friends in bands, people who want to be in a band, , people who just like music, and people who have no formal musical training at all.
Our students range from in age from 16 to 70, and all styles of music are represented. You'll find a myriad of wierd and wonderful sounds eminating from our studios..... especially from the sound effects students.
All you need is the self-motivation and discipline to produce and submit your projects on time.

Our Certificate Programs require around 38 units for completion, and all of the units are discipline specific.... that means you'll be taking all your classes in the Music Department's Recording Programs. At the end you'll receive a Career Certificate, which allows you to march in the year-end Graduation Ceremony, and affords you powerful evidence of competency in the audio industry.

If you'd prefer an Associates Degree, no problem. Just take your certificate's worth of Recording Classes, and the rest in General Ed.... English, Math, Science, etc. Again, you'll march at Graduation, and have the credentials to transfer to a four-year university.

The current student trend is to earn a Certificate, then go on to obtain the corresponding Associates Degree.... it's the best of both worlds.... and you get to hang around and use the studios longer.

  • Our goal is to prepare you for a career in Audio. That means any type of audio production.... such as:
  • Recording Studio
  • Radio Station
  • Television Studio
  • Film Studio and Production Locations
  • Web Audio
  • Music Mastering
  • Sound Effects Design/ Foley
  • Cruise Ship Audio
  • Live Sound Mixing and Concert Recording.... and Much More
